Wolf! Considered to be a legendary animal, because of their howling through which they communicate. Their howl has many different meanings which only a wolf can understand. Wolf is also considered ancestors of domestic dogs. Many scientists believe that domestic dog are descended from wolves, many thousand years ago. Wolf is one of the well-known animal. Many studies, researches and books are written on it. Mostly, wolves lives in the forests, mountains and cold areas. And they are ruthless social predators, who like to prey. Approximately, a wolf lives 10 years.

Generally there are two types of the wolves. One is Red and the other is Gray. But scientist have given the especial names according to their continents. Wolves are the largest members of Canid Family. The subspecies of gray wolves in North America includes: the Arctic Wolf, North-Western Wolf, Great Plains Wolf, Mexican Wolf and the Eastern Timber Wolf. Red wolves are only found in North California. Coyotes are also species of the wolves, but they are small then the mature wolves.Wolves lives in the Packs, it’s because they have a perilous life. They had to travel from place to place to find prey. Each wolf has a dominant leader, a male wolf. It is called an “ALPHA”. Alpha keeps the members of his pack united, hunt for their member and all the member obey it. Some other subordinates are known as “BETA” and “OMEGA”. Beta is the second-in-command, and Omega is the subordinate of all.
